Since racing horses perform the heaviest and most stressful activity among all horses, providing the nutritional needs of these horses requires balanced diets rich in energy and protein because of their heavy activity. As the major feed for racing horses, glycogen is largely present in muscles and the liver. It has been tried to use cereal starch, oils, fermentable fibers, soy flour, and vitamin-mineral supplements in the nut concentrate for racing horses to achieve more energy and protein efficiencies.
